lyrics

a fork in the road below the fork
in the sole sycamore tree
the hand tilting my hips fits the glove that was left in the leaves
the future tilts out alright
in a wave I have yet to see
and although her time was lost as light
hips of a rose will emerge as the ghost of the gone she was toast
so a toast to the gone
to the ghost who emerged
in the guise of a compass rose
in my mind just this one time
through the night

dont cry cause your
fingers split in five
any hand will keep them together
and our wooden teeth that
bite into our roots will shoot into
a younger forever

forgot the way of my home on return to the fork at the sycamore tree
a hand was severed and tethered
to webs hanging blood in the leaves
but oh her cut-out love rides
on a wave pain that I’ll never see
and although her eyes were
storms at the time
thoughts down the road made a stand she arose for the ghost in her mind wore freckles just like mine on the nose
I wonder should I go
left or right

well she didnt give up
at the drop of her diastole
whats left of her life
is a white glove thrown
to the other side

whats left of my life I feel I stole
try but Ill never make up all I owe you
as the guide
to the other side

cause I left you indebted
forever hear laughter
never get to tell you
you were right

dont cry cause your
fingers split in five
any hand will keep them together
and our wooden teeth that
bite into our roots will shoot into
a younger forever

about

Mobilis Columbia, Missouri

Mobilis smash electric-acoustic paintings to beautiful bits in their basement particle accelerator.
What began as a bedroom experiment converting 19th century sci-fi into indie-pop quickly expanded its sonic and thematic scope.
Mobilis kicked off 2015 with the release of their first EP, “Arboreal”, a proof that bands needn’t sacrifice musical diversity to produce immersive, cohesive records.
